Butterfield Bobcat Mascot

 

Hello Bobcats! My name is Christine Dickinson, and I am honored to serve as the new principal of Butterfield Elementary School.

With 20 years of experience in education, I’ve had the privilege of serving as a classroom teacher, Technology Integration Specialist, and Technology Director. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Master’s degrees in both Elementary Education and Educational Leadership. I’m originally from Brush Prairie, Washington, and I’m thrilled to bring my passion for learning and leadership to the Bobcat community.

My leadership style is rooted in collaboration, clear communication, and a strong commitment to creating a positive, student-centered environment. I believe in building meaningful relationships, with students, staff, and families, and fostering a school culture where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and heard.

Butterfield’s strong foundation in STEAM is something I greatly admire, and I’m excited to continue supporting innovative learning experiences in every classroom. I believe in celebrating growth, setting high expectations, and working together as a team to help every student succeed.

There are a few guiding principles I hold:

  • The safety and well-being of all students and staff
  • Ongoing participation in Professional Learning Teams (PLTs)
  • Fidelity to our district-adopted curriculum
  • A shared commitment to professionalism throughout our school

You’ll see me often, at drop-off, in classrooms, and at school events, because being visible, engaged, and accessible is important to me. I welcome your feedback, your questions, and your partnership. Together, we will ensure Butterfield continues to be a place where students thrive both academically and personally.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our two sons, our dogs, four goats, and our chickens. I can’t wait to meet you and your family and am looking forward to a wonderful year ahead.
